Second, you MUST disconnect from the Internet. There are 2 tricks: first make sure ONLY the 1.2 files are in there. I have "heard" that there can be "iPod_13.1.2.ipsw" files for the 1.2 update. Keep in mind that we're talking about a "5.5G, video" model Pod). I have been able to "downgrade" my 1.2.1 firmware to 1.2, which does NOT list playlists with no content on my Pod. Here's the text of what Paul Constantine found. I found a site that may take me back to 1.2. IPod video 60GB (currently running OS 1.1.2) I find no posting regarding any known issues with this update from Apple - only postings from fellow owners with 1.2.1 issues too. Unfortunately I was disconnected and NOW they are closed!!Ĭan anyone suggest what I can do other than turning my 60GB iPod into a fancy paper weight?Īny ideas why some podcasts do not sync even thought they are checked and settings are to sync everything?Īttention Apple - I will PAY for support. She asked the basic questions 5R's etc and placed me on hold while she looked up something. AGAIN - if I return the iPod OS to 1.1.2 - it works fine without any reset issues - under its own power - no external battery OR charging station attached.įustrated I called Apple tonight and after 15 minutes (actually pretty quick) on hold I was able to reach someone. It also continues to work if plugged into base charging station. Also if I use an external battery like Belkin, it works fine without resetting when using iPod OS 1.2.1. There has to be some type of bug with this update. It indicates that my system is not authorized to transfer these files (they worked before this update issue). It will not sync all of my video podcasts and also does not sync all of my music. OS version 1.1.2 does not support some of my files in iTunes.

Unfortunately I can not locate any OS between 1.1.2 and 1.2.1

If I upgrade again (no extra battery charge) the problem occurs again. If I restore to OS 1.1.2 (no extra battery charge) the iPod plays without restting itself randomly. This only happens if running on battery (yes it is fully charged). Yes, I have try the 5 R's, reinstalled the software several times, have restored the OS to 1.1.2 (only version I can find before 1.2.1) and re-installed 1.2.1.Īfter 1.2.1 update, iPod starts playing a song and after a couple of minutes, it resets. So I updated to 1.2.1 and now my iPod no longer works.
